Control boundary	Each factory should return a named gear geometry, ratio, thermal rating for the stated duty cycle, mounting code and a written statement of radial and axial load capacity. They should also mark whether oil, breathers, couplings and FAT attendance sit inside the machine price.
Downstream	If a bidder quotes a bare reducer only, record installation, training, spare parts, special paint and freight as open items. Those deviations stay visible until the buyer accepts them or moves them into the purchase boundary. We do not hide gaps to force a single winner.

Ratio, flange and mounting often change when the driven SKU changes. Ask manufacturers to keep each geometry with its own selection table rather than transferring helical ratings to a worm or planetary quote.

What must be cleaned or replaced?

List oil type, breathers, coupling hubs and keys that change with shaft height. Tooling, installation, shipping, training and commissioning must be marked included or excluded.

How is the first good output verified?

Agree temperature rise, seal tightness at the named mounting and whether the driven load stays within quoted shaft loads. First-good notes belong with FAT or SAT, not with a silent catalog curve.
